I sought out your site after reading the article in the CPQ Summer/Fall 2004 written by Shari on sexual behaviour last night. Boy - did I ever learn a lot! I am a new subscriber to The Companion Parrot Quarterly Magazine and while I have read several back issues - this was the first time I noticed the name \"Parrot Island\". Because the information was so good and helpful to me - I went on-line to see if you folks had a web site and viola` - here I am.
I couldn\'t agree more with you about ethics or lack thereof...
I was at a \"Bird Sale\" over the weekend (an inexpensive place to pick up toys and cleaning supplies, etc.) - and breeders there are selling birds that are obviously sick. It\'s heart wrenching. I congratulate organizations that are trying hard to protect our feathered friends.
I have only had \"feathers in my blood\" for about 3 years now, and now own 2 birds. I know I have much to learn, and look forward to reading all the articles you have posted on your website. I\'m also going to shop a little. The more knowledgeable I become, the more I recognize all the mistakes I\'ve made, and I\'m thankful my babies still love me.
Keep up the good work. It\'s because of people like yourself, Sally Blanchard, & some others that inexperienced folks like myself have a chance to learn about these wonderful creatures who are tolerating us in their lives.
