Excellent information on Meyers parrots. Having lived with a Meyers parrot for 5 years and 11 other parrots, I find that everything said in this article about this fascinating little wonder is true.
I have a friend who has one also. Hers is a female. Mine is a male. Their personalities are quite different.
Mine is very quiet and entertains himself for hours inside or outside his cage. Loves baskets and gets very possessive of them. Also possessive of me (his mom). For some reason hers has started screaming - all day and if put back in her cage will bite quite hard. I don\'t understand about the screaming because mine is quiet as a mouse even when he speaks. He does have a lethal bite though and is not intimidated by anyone.
