Avian Specific Full Spectrum Light: Floor Lamp This floor lamp uses the same type of bulb we use with our personal parrots - now available in an electronic ballasted lamp (very safe, low heat), and using a 26 Watt Replaceable Bulb. This lamp keeps the bulb about 5 feet off the ground and has a highly adjustable, flexing top. It has been the best we can find after over 8 years of research along with Dr. Tammy Jenkins of St. Francis Animal & Bird Hospital. It produces the correct range of UVB light for our birds to correctly metabolize the calcium and to a lesser degree, the Vitamin A in their diet.

Household glass (newer than that manufactured pre-World War 2) filters out approximately 95% of the UV from sunlight.

These lights should be placed 2 feet or closer to the bird for the most benefit. They should be used only on a light timer. Please contact us as to the specific length of time as well as the time of day to use these bulbs as it varies by the species of bird that you have.

Always be sure that the light cord and bulb are not within reach of your bird at any time

Please Note: All of the bulbs used in the various lighting products we sell are guaranteed to hold the correct spectrum for 1 year from the date of purchase! At that point (even if they are still lighting) the phosphors which allow the light to remain in the correct spectrum will have degraded to the point where replacement is necessary. We encourage people to write the date that they begin using the bulbs on the base of the bulb (or somewhere unobtrusive) and that you check it regularly.

There are UPS oversize shipping fees involved with sending the box sizing needed for this lamp. This means they charge us a fee based on this box weighing 72#. We only charge you, the customer, shipping costs based on 25# to help keep these costs down for you! PLEASE NOTE: These may only be shipped UPS GROUND
